Spiros Kokkinis (SIK) was born September 1945 in Innsbruck, Austria, son of Ippokratis Kokkinis and Elinor Rabsahl. He grew up in Patras, Greece, he studied medicine in Vienna and Athens, specializing in microbiology and moved in1977 to the beautiful island of Paros. He worked as a microbiologist until 2003. In 2012 he moved to engineering, constructing the high pressure hydraulics attachments for a small Honda tractor, a big success aesthetically and functionally. After getting familiar with working the metal, cutting, welding ect. he moved February 2013, constructing metal sculptures out of stainless steel and marble. With no schooling in the arts and minimum knowledge in contempory art, he works influenced basically only from his life experience. His work was exhibited until november 2014 in a small gallery in the main market street (agora) of Paroikia, Paros Island, Greece, not for sale. Since 1985 he lives with his wife Jan Clark.
